Be careful buying thrifted or inexpensive watches. They frequently have lead and other dangerous metals in them. Save up and get a good quality safe metal watch (gold, silver or stainless steel). My father bought a watch when travelling at the airport. Mentioned it in pasaing to his dr at an appointment and the doctor said, "Throw it out. Many of the cheap watches have lead".

My advice for better styling would be to use a few larger pieces instead of many small things. If you have a bunch of smaller stuff, group them on a tray to ground them and appear to the eye as 1 thing. Maybe invest in a few bigger (fake) plants

I would put magnets on the lower cabinets anywhere in the apartment to keep the pups out of them. I would also get some legs for the livingroom cabinet. Don't let the pups have any cheese it's bad for them and should not feed them any human food. Anything the pups could potentially get into magnetize them and up on legs. There are wire covers that are adhesive and could use a second hand cabinet and holes on the side and keep whatever electronics inside. Surely you can find a glass piece or large lampshade cover to surround the track lighting and secure to the ceiling. cover the entire unit it looks silly with the paper lantern over one bulb sorry to say and finding a second hand one is cheap can even find them at Ikea. great result on the sofa.

For your lamp at the ceiling maybe put the same paper lamp but in small size to cover the second light bubble. I would make it look asymmetrical on purpose and should fit

I still dislike gray color, too (im still processing getting rid of "gray" stuff at home). Few years ago, I used to create sofa cover seats out of bed sheets, I had extra bed sheets, I staped under the sofa/under back and under the sofa seat. Then a year later, I remove the " the bed sheet" from the sofa and sold it. The sofa was in good shape. I know its a lot of work but its worth it. The reason I got the bed sheet is was free at no cost, they were flannelette. Maybe one day you could try it.

If you put legs on the 2 cabinets you could hide the wifi box underneath maybe and then just get the stick on cord covers that stick to the floor to cover the extension leads you need to run to your kitchen appliances. Your apartment is looking so much better and I can’t wait to see the bathroom makeover!

I use bed sheet fasteners for my chair covers. They are strips of elastic with a clip on each end. I clip them under and behind chair/sofa and it pulls the loose fabric tight. I got mine from Amazon.

For the wifi box ect use a square white foldable plastic crate & the tapestry would look better in a frame & if you can't find 1 to fit it you could cut it to size since picture is only in the middle, for wooden coffee table you could use a peel & stick wall paper & other furniture piece you don't like look of any more for the back of couch cover use a white telescope broom handle, also could get organizing items that you know you can use in the next homes you move to awell

Use a pool noodle to keep your couch cover in place. Tuck a long one, don’t cut it up, down in the cushion at your back. Your apt looks great!

    • @gillianbradley8159
      @gillianbradley8159 2 дні тому

I use a pool noodle on my couch and loveseat as I found the small bits of foam that came with the covers were useless. They kept working their way out when you sat down! I then had to get upholstery pins to stop the covers riding up the side. All in all, the covers are just a stop gap until we can afford to replace the set.

"It makes the room feel mismatching" - the room IS mismatching. Overall - there is too much stuff in the entire apartment. Furniture, baskets, and on and on and on. It feels cluttered and mismatched. I'm so used to your adorable and lovely spaces. This one is not one of them. There is no charm or beauty. Also, please hem the curtains. (Is Haley hampering your style?)

You could just keep the bathtub inflated and keep it in your shower. That's what we do with our kids inflatable one. You have it diagonal leaning against a wall so that it dries out. If someone needs to use the shower, you just move it out of the way while they shower and then put it back when they're done. Then you don't have to keep inflating and uninflating it. That unit would look fine with two sets of legs on each because you would be able to tell they are two separate pieces. It does need legs of some sort.

The place just keeps looking better and better 🤩 In the living room i would try: - Having a round rug. Maybe try the blue/white one you just moved from the dogs sofa or a large oval one? Also try moving the tray from the coffee table to the cabinets (collecting the things by the foto of your nan on it), and having a rounded tray there instead. I just think adding a few rounded shapes will make it look less 'boxy' (and I think the cool shape of the tray will be highlighted if you put it on the cabinets) - White contact paper on the coffee table to make it one color so it blends in more - And finallyyy, I would remove the tapestry of the dogs. Instead I would try a sconce close to the entry, maybe a frame on the side of the wall close to the cabinets but mostly keep the wall empty But it really looks great already and I don't know if any of that would help haha 😊😊

Really appreciate that you are showing us the real challenges of moving to a new place, and how so much of the interior design is determined through (painful!!) trial and error! And how everything looks so messy for the first few weeks as you sort out furniture, organizing, etc. Moving is always so hard even when you think you’ve planned appropriately!!! I’m sure you and Haley will get it figured out soon. One thought for the media console/sofa area in the main room: maybe you could find a tall basket to put over the wifi hub? Alexandra Gater’s studio fix series uses this a hack a lot, and this seems like it might suit both the space constraints and your overall decor tastes? Also, maybe you could frame the dogs tapestry in a lightweight frame ? That might make the print feel more intentional and less college-dorm-y.

The tapestry looks like "dorm vibes"...it reminds me of how i put things on the wall at Uni. The tapestry needs a wood frame.. eg at least an IKEA wood clip frame on top and bottom to keep the tension. Sadly it is the dog tapestry makes it look childish. You could put legs on the cupboards.. the put "fake" legs around the 2 middle legs to make them look like one. Cardboard box organisation.. eg from IKEA or cheap/free boxes with cute paper or paint them Hope you vlogged in Taiwan. Taiwan is a beautiful country. Love it there.

I have an idea .... Don't say no yet : - Why not making a big living room with the 2 sofas where there is the bed ; - Then the bed goes where there is the dog's sofa because you just need a corner in reality ; - And in the living room, keep the dining room and maybe an office or a bigger table in the middle, craft cabinet, beauty, eveything that needs a table actually. I don't know well your appartment yet and the spaces etc so not sure exactly if it would fit

I feel like the lot of us have a dining area & yet eating in the living room has become the norm. I do feel it's not the best thing as it distracts families from focusing on one another as opposed to the tv or what have you...but...that is the reality. My daughter & I ate in the LR from about her middle school years on - unless we had certain company & then used the table. And we'd get so excited to pick out what we were going to watch with dinner! I think it's the double endorphin hit of food & entertainment that draws us all in...

I can't remember if you have a balcony area....if yes, maybe plonk the inflated (or deflated) bath tub upside down out there to dry. Unless it's a super windy spot!! The tapestry might look better above the white cabinet with the mirror. Big art or a gallery above the brown cabinet, with some books, plants knick knacks etc on top? Also wondering if you could swap the oven & table thing over next to the hot plate- then have the white bins next to the fridge?? Apologies if i'm talking nonsense...it's hard to guage from a video!

Hello dear Hermione! I love how you're organizining the closed areas of the apartment! After awhile you two will run down more of your supplies and it'll be more manageable. In the meantime, condense things and go on a buying strike so those extra pennies become dollars and you can be on to your next adventure!! I think it's the way the banner is hung above the brown cabinet that's making it look "childish". Maybe sew the top over just enough to run a dowel through so it looks like a proper decor peice and use decorative string to hang it. That cord corner is a nightmare. Not the way you have it, but the fact that there is no outlet for a cooker in the kitchen! I swear, apartments aren't not designed to have people live in them! What about one of those long, thin organizational baskets hung (command strips) on the side of the kitchen cabinet beside the cooker to keep the extention cord hidden and out of the way right by the cooker rather than the livingroom corner?

  • @moominpye3091

Could try Velcro for the sofa cover instead of upholstery line so it's easy the clean. You can also buy online or make tiny side tables for the sofa to eat off that the legs to under the couch but the top swivels to eat off if that makes sense. Also could try to diy a 2 hole lantern for the bedroom from light fittings side and paper then it can be the size you want. X
